10 Rules for Effortless, Everyday Style

In this series, I share some simple tips for leveling up your daily looks.

My favorite boots from last fall are back in stock! They are true to size (if on the fence you can size up 1/2 size), super comfortable and honestly go with so many things. I came up with 12 ideas easily and could’ve kept going. By now I’ve surely told you several times that leopard is a neutral, so as bold as it seems it really works well with so many pieces.

In all of these looks I’m wearing my Jaime Hoop Earrings in Metallic Gold Wood (available late September as part of a special collection), my three Yearly Co. bangles (I have two Initial Bangles with “J” and “L” on them for my kids’ initials, and a Twist Bangle) as well as my hammered gold ring from J. Albrecht Designs. Everything is true to size unless otherwise noted.

Top (c/o) / Jeans (c/o) / Bag (c/o)

This is an easy, laid-back look that will be great for transitioning into fall. I love mixing leopard print with olive. The top is definitely oversized, so I recommend sizing down. These jeans have been some of my favorites for the past year and have gotten so much wear (sized down 2 sizes), but sadly they aren’t restocked and are nearly sold out. I recommend these and these as similar options.

Jacket / Top (c/o) / Jeans (c/o) / Bag (c/o)

Same look, styled for cooler temperatures. This jacket has been great for San Diego summer evenings, and I’m looking forward to layering it in the fall. I got my usual size and it’s a bit oversized, but I wouldn’t size down unless you don’t plan on layering it for fall/winter.

Black, white, leopard and red is a color combo that feels both classic and edgy.

Same look, plus a denim jacket for another layer of warmth. I sometimes like to just throw the jacket on over my shoulders rather than try to get my sweater arms stuffed into the sleeves. I went up a size in the jacket.

Swapped the bag and the jacket and this outfit has a totally different feel!

Leopard and leather are guaranteed to give an outfit an edgy vibe. I kept the rest of the outfit low-key with simple black denim and a slouchy white tee.

The muted colors in this graphic tee make it easy to pair with the leopard boots. This one I’m wearing is a bit pricey, but I think the price matches the quality for sure. If you’re looking for other graphic tee options for less, check out this post.

Shirt / Jeans (c/o) / Bag (c/o)

This drapey white button-down is a new addition to my wardrobe that has already proven so versatile. I bought it as a replacement for my other white button-down that I never wore because it was a more fitted style that just never seemed appealing to wear. This is definitely an oversized top and I went down a size so it wouldn’t be overwhelmingly billowy.

Jacket / Tee (and similar) / Jeans (c/o) / Bag

The white jacket strikes again! I’m telling you, this goes with so much. I paired it with my Ciao graphic tee (double leopard!), but this look works with a simple grey shirt like my favorite $8 tee.

A sweater tank is a perfect piece for climates like we have in Southern California. It works now for moderate summer days, and easily transitions into fall and winter layering since it never gets too cold here. I ordered this one in white also since I’ve been wearing this red one so much.

Same outfit as above, with a sweater blazer added as an extra layer. I considered the tan one I also own, but I liked the way the grey popped and contrasted with the top, bag and shoes better. These sweater blazers are a true wardrobe staple for me (I have tan, grey and leopard) and they run a bit big so I like to size down a size.

Last look is essentially my uniform from last fall and winter—I paired this turtleneck with these boots anytime I didn’t know what to wear and wanted to feel chic. A black turtleneck is classic like that.

Have I sold you on leopard boots yet?! Which look is your favorite? How would you style them?

Where is the gray and white crew neck pullover (linked as the everlane crewneck) from?? Like the original sweater, not just similar linked version!

    Thanks!!

Hi, these boots look great. Are they comfortable when you wear them without socks?
