10 Rules for Effortless, Everyday Style

In this series, I share some simple tips for leveling up your daily looks.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now officially open to the public, which is great news if you’re like me and do not have a Nordstrom card. I love Nordstrom for many reasons, but mostly because they have free shipping and an excellent return policy. Win-win. These are the items I think are worth grabbing during the sale—some of which I already own, and some that I have in my cart!

This cardigan is the same as the one I’m wearing in the photo above with the Sloan Necklace—I have the heather burgundy color in my cart right now! (Size-tip: it runs big!)

I love the simplicity of this sweatshirt dress, and that the balloon sleeves give it a fun fashiony twist. This would be great with sneakers for a day at the park with my son, or it could totally be dressed up for a night out.

A classic saddle bag is always a good look.

This back-zip pullover in burgundy is super similar to one I have and love already, but at a way better price. I’d wear it with a Jenna Necklace, personally!

This dress in black is so dreamy for fall/winter if you live in a warmer climate like I do.

I’ve been considering this J.Crew blazer for a year or two and now might be the time to pull the trigger. I don’t have a navy blazer yet, and I love how easily it can complete a look and make it so classic.

Of course I love this off-shoulder top. All of the colors are so pretty!

I already have this tote in the classic leather (without the stripe) and I use it all the time! It’s super minimalist and a wardrobe basic in my opinion.

I got these faux leather leggings at last year’s sale and they are a steal at their sale price—they are a fall/winter go-to for me! I’m so happy I won’t be pregnant by the holidays so I can bust mine out again. You can see how I’ve styled them on the blog here.

I love the idea of these calf hair slide loafers. The pattern is amazing if you like more minimalist outfits like me because it makes a simple jeans and t-shirt look into something really great. I love the pointed toe, too.

These ankle booties in sandstone are the perfect fall bootie with an almond toe. (I’m tempted to get them, though they may be too similar to the ones I’m wearing here.)

Although I don’t need a heavy coat here in San Diego, I have a weakness for outerwear. This quilted coat in the green color is so dreamy and would be easy to wear over leggings and boots on a chilly winter day. I think I’m going to order it!

  2. Adorable style as always. Yes!!!!!! love Nordstroms free shipping and returns! The best. In fact right now I am putting together a post by them of all USA made clothing items. I didn’t even know they had that until a few weeks ago!
