10 Rules for Effortless, Everyday Style

In this series, I share some simple tips for leveling up your daily looks.

In preparation for my Madewell pop-up shop this weekend, I stopped by my local store to try on some items to wear on Sunday and of course I recorded it all for you to help you navigate some of their new spring items! You can see the entire video here (or below!), and below are all of the links and sizing details, plus what I ended up taking home with me.

I’m wearing these mules in every outfit, and they fit TTS for me, but you could go up 1/2 size if you’re on the fence. Also, for jewelry I’m wearing my Chloe Coin Necklacesilhouette locket (c/o Family Print Shop, 16″ length), and Emma Hoops in Brass Circle.

Note: when I say “TTS” for this post, it means true to my usual Madewell size—I always go down a size in their denim, so TTS for jeans means I just got the size I usually get at Madewell.

Wrap dress (size down)
Cropped bubble-sleeve top (size down or TTS)
Denim skirt (TTS)
Yellow peasant top (size down)
Multi-color stripe top (TTS, boxy)
White cardigan (TTS)
Skinny jeans (TTS)
Yellow sweater tank (TTS)
Raw hem boyjeans (size down 2 sizes)
V-neck tank (TTS)
Boyjeans in eco wash (TTS, but very long)
Midi skirt (size down)
Rust peasant top (TTS or size down)
Demi-boot cut jeans (size down)
Eyelet top (size down)
Denim jacket (size up)

I ended up taking home the wrap dress, midi skirt, rust peasant top, denim jacket, plus this belt bag and this bandana (not shown in try-on). Also considering snagging the demi boot jeans and the a-line denim skirt with the 20% off discount at the event!

Which items are your favorite from the try-on? Are you shopping any of the new spring goodies at Madewell? (Also, remember if you’re local that you’ll get 20% off when you come to the event on Sunday, and that includes items you order from the store while you’re there if they don’t have it stocked!).
