3 Weeks in a Carry-On (with International Travel)

I still felt like I had so many options and that I always had the right thing to wear.

Here in San Diego, October is actually the warmest month of the year. It breaks my heart a little, because I’m always eager to dress in real fall clothing, but I’m learning to embrace real fall vs. fantasy fall and this was the weather-appropriate outfit I wore over the weekend for a birthday shopping date with my mom.

This dress—like many I’ve started to feature recently—is one I normally wouldn’t pick, but I’m being drawn more and more to midi length dresses and skirts and I love the way it fits just right in all the right places. The side slits also make it feel more modern and not overly-conservative. As the weather cools, I plan to throw on a sweater and tan ankle boots to keep it in the rotation.

As far as the shoes go, I highly recommend them. They’ve become my go-to heels for the summer and these warm fall days! They also happen to be pretty perfect for date nights.

P.S. More about the backstory on that latte in my hand.
