10 Rules for Effortless, Everyday Style

In this series, I share some simple tips for leveling up your daily looks.

Well, I was going to make a fancy, legit blogger collage but it’s 2020 and there just doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day to do it all and keep two small children fed and happy, so I offer you my super minimalist gift guide. I figure getting the suggestions out there instead of taking weeks longer to make it “perfect” is better in the long run, so I’m going with it. Thanks for being here and hopefully this helps you pick gifts for the women in your life, or get ideas of what to put on your own Christmas list this year.

While I don’t have a collage happening, I did take the time to put these into price categories for you. And you’ll note that I shamelessly included my own jewelry in here, because obviously I think it makes a great gift!

UNDER $25

‘What Kind of Woman: Poems’ by Kate Baer, $15.30 // A debut poetry collection about the beauty and hardships of being a woman in the world today, and the many roles we play—mother, partner, and friend.

Alice & Wonder ‘Welcome Home’ Keychain, $18 // This would be an adorable gift for anyone who moved into a new home this year!

Corkcicle Wine Tumbler, $22.95 // We have these and use them every single week, whether we’re in the backyard or taking a little neighborhood happy hour stroll. Personalize it even more and include a bottle of wine that you know the recipient will enjoy with the gift.

Studio McGee x Threshold Cedar & Myrrh Holiday Candle, $15 // Affordable, yet so festive and luxe.

Custom Chatbook (or Chatbook Gift Series), starting at $10 // For a more sentimental gift, create a custom book or even gift a series. We’ve done this with my parents and even my grandmothers and it’s always so special and something they can cherish. Get $10 off with code RUZKYAFE.

Makeup Eraser Set, $25 // A thoughtful gift for the makeup lover, this set makes makeup removal easy, eco friendly and a lot more chic than cotton rounds.

Sotela Zero Waste Pouch, $14 for small and $18 for large  // Made 100% out of (gorgeous, high quality) fabric scraps and leftover zippers, these bags are are completely zero waste. Use the code Natalie10 for 10% off your order.

UNDER $50

Madewell Leopard Card Case, $29.50 // A simple gift for fashion-forward gals that like to switch bags easily (I personally use a card case instead of a wallet since I switch bags daily!)

Jaclyn James Co Rise + Shine Coffee, $38 // This is the coffee I drink every day. Organically grown and roasted right here in San Diego, it’s a great gift for coffee snobs. Add a hand-stamped brass coffee scoop for an extra special touch.

Primally Pure roller, $44 // Face rolling is a highly beneficial practice, and this gift is perfect for the skincare enthusiast who is looking to add a little more self-care to their daily routines. Use code NATALIE10 for 10% off your order!

“That Cheese Plate Will Change Your Life” Book, $28 // For the aspiring entertainer in your life. I personally really want this book for myself, as I’d really love to level up on my cheese board game.

McGee + Co Double Weave Frame, $38 // I love this beautiful, textured frame. Add a special photo to personalize it for the recipient.

Hearth & Hand Enameled Dutch Oven, $49.99 // A great gift for anyone who loves to cook at home.

Loopy Case, $39 // There are so many different options to choose from to suit the taste of the recipient. I personally have the White Ombré and love it! Use Natalie10 for 10% off your order.

ABLE Scarf, $28-$38 // Use it as a face mask or an accessory. Ethically and responsibly made in India. Use Natalie30 for 30% off through 11/13, and Natalie20 for 20% off after that.

UNDER $100

NB x SOKO Jewelry, $50-$65 // A collection of 7 ethically handmade, recycled brass pieces available in collaboration with SOKO (at shopsoko.com) on Friday, 11/13 at 9am.

NB x PS46 Kate Coin Necklace, $75 // Another shameless plug? Yep! Though not available until Monday, 11/16 (from psfortysix.com), I wanted to put this on your radar for holiday shopping! The gold-filled coin pendant is hammered by hand at the edges with a matte stripe down the center. It’s a simple piece for everyday wear that will resist tarnishing over time.

Clare V Coin Clutch, $55 // A cute little accessory. Make it even more personal with a monogram.

Glossier You Perfume, $60 // I’m biased because this is the perfume I personally wear everyday, but let me tell you…it is the BEST fragrance. Scents can be tough to buy online, but here’s a quick description of what it smells like, straight from their site: “Glossier You is heavy on warm, creamy base notes (musk, ambrette, and ambrox) that transform and smell a little different on everyone.”

We Drink Bubbles Gift Set, $70 // For the champagne-lover in your life, this gift set includes a mix of 3 clean-farmed, boutique Champagnes, sparkling wines and rosés. The perfect gift anyone will love to cheers to! Use code NATALIE for a discount at checkout.

UNDER $150

Jenni Kayne candle set, $125 // I bought this for myself a little while ago as an easy way to try out the Jenni Kayne fragrances. They’re honestly all so good! Use Natalie20 for 20% off anything at Jenni Kayne

Freda Salvador James slippers, $150 // These are comfortable and luxe, but most importantly ethically and responsibly made! I have a pair for myself (white leopard) and find them to be true to size.

Clare V Wallet Clutch, $145 // Holds a smartphone, cards and keys with a little room to spare. I use mine as an organizer within my bigger tote bags. Personalize it even more with a monogram!

Our Place Always Pan, $145 // Okay, this is no ordinary pan. Not only is it beautiful enough to sit on your stove 24/7, it also is incredibly well designed to replace 8 traditional pieces of cookware. Available in 6 colors, but the ‘Steam’ and ‘Char’ colors are my favorites.

PLUS SOME EXTRA SPECIAL, HIGH END GIFTS…

NB X Yearly Co 14K Gold Petite Dome Ring, $600 // Shown in the top image of this post, this ring was designed by me and will be customized to your size by Yearly Company. It’s a modern take on a classic gold band that can be passed down from generation to generation. Available 11/23 from yearlyco.com.

AirPods Pro, $199 // These are total game-changers! I truly feel like I’m in my own world when I have these in. Perfect for pretty much anyone on your list, to be honest.

Clare V Gosee Bag, $385 // I love this bag, it’s so well made and distinct, yet classic. The Pablo Cat print is also available in the Grande Fanny style ($325), and I love that one too!

Jenni Kayne Pony Hair Mules, $425 // These are my all-time favorite shoes! So effortlessly chic, and the elevate even the most simple outfits. Fit true to size. Use Natalie20 for 20% off.

Ratio Coffee Maker, $345 for the Six and $495 for the Eight // We got the Six earlier this year when we ditched our Nespresso machine to start brewing Jaclyn James Co’s Rise + Shine blend. It’s essentially a beautifully designed, minimalist, automatic pour-over brewer. The only difference between the Six and the Eight is the look—they brew the same temperature and capacity and work exactly the same. See more on the Six in a video I did here.

Madewell Washed Leather Moto Jacket, $498 // Feels like a jacket you’ve had forever (and will keep forever!). Fits true to size, but if unsure, go up a size.

EILEEN FISHER Cashmere Bliss Sweater, $468 // Truly the softest knit I’ve ever put on my body. I have this sweater in the Hazel color and it’s truly heavenly to wear. Responsibly and ethically made with cashmere and silk, it’s an investment piece to keep and wear year after year after year. It does run big, so I recommend sizing down.

Freda Salvador EDA D’Orsay Sneaker, $295 // These are a new addition to my wardrobe and have become a quick favorite. There are so many white sneakers out there, but I love the d’orsay style of these ones. Plus they’re responsibly handmade in Elda, Spain. They’re an elevated take on a classic shoe, and I recommend going down 1/2 size!
