This weekend I’m heading to Austin, TX to celebrate the birthday of one of my very best friends. We met through mutual friends a few years ago when Brian and I were living in Austin, and despite the fact that we left Texas only 7 months after moving there, she and I have grown and maintained a tight friendship over the years—texting almost daily and visiting each other regularly. I’m so thankful for her and that I get to be with her for her birthday this year!
Now, back to the packing! Here’s what I’m bringing for my 3 day/2 night trip—all things that are part of my January capsule wardrobe…

Sherpa coat (also similar) / Olive surplus jacket / Burgundy crewneck sweatshirt / Long sleeved black and white striped tee (similar) / Gingham button-down shirt (similar and similar) / Black skinny jeans / Black ankle boots (c/o)
It’s supposed to be chilly and rainy, so I picked items I could layer and shoes that are work well for walking on wet streets, but are still dressy enough for a dinner out. For jewelry, I’m bringing my Julia Earrings in Geometric Mix, my Chloe Coin Necklace and my petite silhouette locket from Family Print Shop (c/o). I also am packing my Lo & Sons crossbody (c/o) as my bag for the weekend. Here’s a peek at the ways I can combine these pieces to make several different outfits…
