Another month, another capsule. I’m really loving this system I have going on! I feel like I’m getting more use out of my clothes than ever, but not ever getting bored of what I’m wearing since my capsules are for around 30 days (rather than a full season). This month I’m challenging myself to wear some new pieces (like my dreamy butterscotch jacket) as well as some forgotten pieces that got lost in the back of my closet (like my floral blouse).
Admittedly this month was the trickiest one so far, largely because I’m uncertain about the weather. It’s still fairly chilly and we’ve had lots of rain, however I think it’s supposed to warm up a bit, so I tried to bring in enough variety to have flexibility. I also have a couple of weekend trips coming up (Big Sur and La Quinta) and I was trying to think about those and what I’d want to wear, but it was getting too complicated so I’ve just decided I’ll add in items for those trips if I need to.
Instead of the 32 items I had for the last 2 months, I ended up with 36—and I’m totally okay with that! The goal isn’t to have as few items as possible, but rather to curate a collection of clothes that I love and want to wear to inspire creativity and also make it easier and quicker to get dressed every day.
Here’s what I’ll be rotating through for the month…

Just like last month, I’ll be sharing my outfits throughout the month over on Instagram and LiketoKnow.it.
Are you into capsule wardrobes? Or do they seem too limiting/stressful?
Love everything. I have everything in it!
Hi, just wondering how you get your “template” for your outfits. Do you photograph them and then photoshop the background out or what? Asking, as i would also like to include this strategy in my life.
[…] I ended up not really loving my March capsule. I tried to go outside the box more for that one and incorporate some things I hadn’t worn in […]
I love this! Where is your garment rack from?
Do you physically separate out your capsule from the rest of your closet (sort of as pictured)? Or how do you keep yourself from straying from the month’s capsule?
Just trying to figure that out… currently still working through my wardrobe and adding things to Cladwell.
Yes, I just started separating my capsule with this garment rack! But before this, I would just make room in my closet to keep all of my capsule items together in one place—it makes getting ready SO MUCH easier!

I have all the these type of clothes!
You do such a great job. You have wonderful taste! I enjoy getting inspiration from you
Thank you so much!
How did you create the clothing layout? Did you use a specific app for that? I’m referring to the section that says march wardrobe and then has the grid of clothing.
Thanks!
I use Photoshop!
I love the capsul wardrobe ideas! I’m wondering about the clothing rack too. Where did you get it? I’m looking for one.
Thanks!
It’s from Amazon! This is the one I have: https://rstyle.me/+zX2sw3EprSZJsXlL7TQqXw
hi! The green sweater you linked is not the same – where is yours from?
Thanks! hazel
The photo is a different picture than the one I have, but I linked the actual sweater I own and will be wearing this month!
This post is so helpful! I’ve been using Cladwell for about a year and have only created seasonal capsules. Your last two monthly capsules have been so inspiring and seem much more manageable then a whole season.
I just created my March capsule so hopefully I stick to it!
Thanks for your positivity, for sharing so much of your mom journey and for pushing me (and I’m sure so many others) to be kind to our postpartum selves and bodies.
Isn’t Cladwell the best?! I am so happy it’s a free app now so everyone (well, everyone with an iPhone) can enjoy it. It’s made my life so much easier this past year! Good luck with your March capsule—I agree, monthly capsules are so much more manageable!
