Back in December, I had the honor of being a guest on my friend Rebecca’s podcast, The Unburdened Leader. In this episode, we discuss definitions of success lies along, the power of staying clear on our core values, and the importance of taking care of our well-being. I’ve known Rebecca for over a decade and it was so nice to sit down and chat with her about these incredibly important topics we both grapple with regularly.
Specifically, we cover…
- How I live out my value of positivity (not in the way you might think)
- The key learnings I took away from the other side of an incredible work opportunity that shook my health
- How I rumble with my ambitions and ever-evolving definition of success
- How I infuse the wisdom I learned in my eating disorder recovery into my business
This month I made some big decisions about my business and the direction I’m taking it in 2021 and it’s interesting to hear these thoughts I had in December and see how they ultimately led me to all of the feelings I’m having now about being more intentional with my time and aligning my work even more with my values.
You can listen to the episode here. I’d love to hear your thoughts and takeaways after you listen to it and are able to reflect on your own values and how they align with your day-to-day life and work.
Hi Natalie,
I shared this message with Rebecca too. As a mother, business owner and chronic say yes to everything kind of gal, this podcast touched my soul. 🙌🏽 I was tearing up while listening because it is everything I have felt in my heart and head all in one podcast. I have really been trying to spread the message (mostly to myself) that as a business owner I don’t have to be #1. I don’t have to hustle so hard that it compromises my health or the value I have in being with my husband and young kids. Whatever feels right to ME is truly enough. Thank you for normalizing wellness vs the constant pressure to climb to the top of the business ladder. Please keep this content coming. 💛

Yes!! I’m so glad this resonated with you.
Listening to your podcast episode with the Unburdened Leader resonated so well with me in some areas of growth and change that I’ve been working through recently. I’m in the interview process for my PhD and have found that not everyone in my family (particularly my parents) understands, appreciates, or supports (female) ambition. The podcast episode of you owning your trait of being ambitious was so powerful. It helped me own that trait myself and re-form my relationships with people who don’t support my ambition. I am hopeful about the idea of my future being rich and filled with complexities of work, goals, partnership, and children too. Thank you, Natalie! ♡
Yes, some people just are so uncomfortable with female ambition. I’ve definitely experienced it in the recent years of my career as I’ve really established my business.
Thank you for passing the elevator down in terms of just identifying that within yourself and putting it into words for the rest of us…very appreciated!!
