Last week Brian and I took a vacation within a vacation. While visiting my parents in Massachusetts for 4th of July, we snuck away to Martha’s Vineyard for our first baby-free overnight trip. One night, two days and my favorite little island town—it was perfection! We stayed in Edgartown at the Harbor View Hotel and absolutely recommend it. It’s close enough to the shops and restaurants that you can walk everywhere, but separated enough that it feels quiet and quaint. If you follow me on Snapchat (natalie.borton) you definitely got an insider peek into how we spent our hours. In a nutshell, lots of eating, drinking and reading by the pool!

These photos were taken before we went out to dinner at Detente (which I’d also recommend, by the way!). Golden sunshine and salt air made for a dreamy summer evening. This top proved to be the perfect travel shirt, as I wore it all day with little black shorts for a faux romper look to shop and explore, then swapped in my skinnies and new block-heeled sandals for a date-night worthy outfit. Although the exact top I’m wearing sold out really quickly, I’ve linked to several similar options below.
