HATCH Taylor Jumper

Today I want to talk about an investment piece I just got that is helping me transition to fall with my baby bump, and will continue to be a wardrobe staple even after baby girl arrives: the HATCH Collection Taylor Jumper.

As soon as I saw this jumpsuit on the @hatchgal Instagram, I knew it needed to be mine. I waffled a bit between colors—the ivory is SO GORGEOUS, but not really realistic for my day-to-day life with a toddler and soon-to-be-newborn so black was the obvious choice.

I decided to invest in it for a couple of reasons. First of all, I’ve worked with HATCH several times and know that their products are super high quality, so they are absolutely worth the money. Second, I intentionally bought it to help me make the transition to fall with my bump (it has a fall-feeling to it, but is lightweight so I’m not sweating in it while we still have warm days here in San Diego!). Once baby girl arrives, it’ll be a loose, nursing-friendly piece I can wear comfortably and regularly.

Choosing the right size was tough. At 5’4″ and around a size 4, I’m right on the line between regular and petite sizes. Since they offer free returns, I decided to order the black Taylor Jumper in both O/S and P to ensure I got the best fit. After all, it’s definitely an investment piece! Although the O/S was incredibly comfortable and worked well for pregnancy, it was obvious that the type of material it’s made of would loosen with wear, and it would certainly be WAY too big for postpartum. Thus, I sent that one back and am the happy owner of the size P jumpsuit.

Another thing to note: the fit is definitely low cut! Personally, I love it and find it incredibly flattering. I don’t have a large chest and just wear a black bra with a deep-v cut. There’s still plenty of room in the top for when my chest gets a bit bigger for nursing, and it’s also the type of piece that you can easily layer a shirt underneath. In fact, that’s how it’s styled on their site and I absolutely want to experiment with that as the weather cools down.

Here I styled it simply with dainty gold accessories and some flip flop sandals. For fall, I’ll add a sweater or a layer underneath and switch to loafers or mules. I love how versatile it is!
