My friend Conni from Art in the Find and I have been working on a little design collaboration and the necklace is almost ready to go to the shop! So I thought I’d give you a little behind the scenes peek into the design process before we launch it.

We started things off with a trip to the bead shop. I showed Conni around and guided her toward some of my favorite sections and then we both wandered around for awhile, letting ourselves discover and be drawn to different things. Whenever we found something we loved, we’d bring it over to a little table on the side of the shop so we wouldn’t forget it. Then we reconvened and started mixing, matching and dreaming up this beautiful piece!

Conni knew she wanted there to be some blush pink in the necklace, so that was the major guiding principle of the design. We eventually settled on some gorgeous pink recycled glass beads from Ghana and howlite beads that have a beautiful marbled look to them.

The next decision? Choosing a metal pendant or a tassel. I created both and sent photos over to Conni and she loved the tassel, so that’s what we went with!

All in all it’s been a fun collaboration with a dear friend and we cannot wait to release it and see how you style yours! I’m finishing up making each piece this week and just sent Conni her necklace to style for her readers, so we’ll be making it available to you sometime next week.
