I don’t even know if I want to be a blogger or content creator anymore — at least not the way I have been. I wrapped up all of my paid partnerships for the year and am not planning to do sponsored content anymore. I’m ready to change things up, or at least experiment for a while..."

I'm always inspired by fellow entrepreneurs — especially women who are paving their own way and creating beautiful things for the world.

Preorders are open for The Intentional Bracelet, c Preorders are open for The Intentional Bracelet, created in partnership with fellow designer turned real life friend @psfortysix.

Wear it daily — alone or stacked with other favorite bracelets — as a reminder to live your days with purpose and intention. This excerpt from Essentialism by Greg McKeown has stuck with me since I read it a few weeks ago...

“We can either make our choices deliberately or allow other people’s agendas to control our lives. Once an Australian nurse named Bronnie Ware, who cared for people in the last twelve weeks of their lives, recorded their most often discussed regrets. At the top of the list: ‘I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.’ This requires, not just haphazardly saying no, but purposefully, deliberately, and strategically eliminating the nonessentials, and not just getting rid of the obvious time wasters, but cutting out some really good opportunities as well. Instead of reacting to the social pressures pulling you to go in a million directions, you will learn a way to reduce, simplify, and focus on what is absolutely essential by eliminating everything else.”
I deleted the Instagram app from my phone the firs I deleted the Instagram app from my phone the first week of the year and took a couple of weeks off. I know people who do this regularly to create some mental space from it, but honestly I can’t remember ever doing this or even feeling a desire to do it. And let me tell you, it was the best decision!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Social media — and this app in particular — can be a beautiful place to foster community, but it can also be a really toxic and negative space. Lately it feels more like the latter and I’ve been feeling the burden of that daily for months. It's both too personal and not personal enough, you know? Opting out for a bit has allowed me to step back and clear my head and think about what I want my business and this community to grow into in 2021.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don’t have all the answers yet, but one thing I know for sure is that I want to spend less time on social media moving forward and I want to find better ways to connect with you outside of this often noisy and mentally draining app.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I deeply value this positive community we have, and I’ll still be here on Instagram, but I’ll be posting a lot less and a lot more intentionally. I have some exciting things in the works that I’ll probably start sharing more about next week, and until then you can find me posting on my blog regularly (blog.natalieborton.com) and sending out weekly emails (signup link is in the link in my bio!).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Feel free to double tap if you agree and have had similar feelings, and comment below if you have more to add to this conversation 👇🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
P.S. As part of my commitment to be intentional with my time, I will not be answering DMs anymore, but I have contact info on my blog (link in profile) if you have questions or want to connect! That’ll be the best way to get in touch this year.

My word for 2021 👉🏼 INTENTIONAL ⠀⠀⠀⠀ My word for 2021 👉🏼 INTENTIONAL
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s the first Monday of a new year and I finally determined my focus for the new year. I’m ready to take things up a notch and be even more purposeful and deliberate with how I spend my time and what I say “yes” to in this new year. I have zero plans to slow down growing my business (in fact, I have some fun things on the horizon!) I’m but I also know that more hours worked doesn’t equal more success. I want to be more discerning about what’s worth my time (both professionally and personally) and what’s worth passing on. And I also want to be even more values-oriented with the decisions I make and the habits I keep. I’m excited to see what life is like a year from now with this intention set in place ✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What do you want more of (or less of!) in your life in 2021, and how can I help you do it?
10 of my favorite outfits from 2020 / Which do you 10 of my favorite outfits from 2020 / Which do you like best?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know 2020 is basically the year of loungewear, and while I certainly enjoyed lounging at home in sweats in the evenings, I got dressed almost every single day this year. I know not everyone will share my love for wearing “real clothes” everyday, especially around the house, but it’s honestly one of my favorite habits! The clothes I share here are the clothes I really wear everyday (ask my friends!)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When my son Jack was born 6 years ago, athletic clothes were my default. They were comfortable and practical and easy to wear with a newborn and a changing postpartum body. But after several months, I started to miss the feeling of a real, proper outfit. And I wasn’t even sure I knew what kind of clothes I even liked anymore. So I started the #legitmomstyle hashtag and began sharing my day to day outfits that felt put together but also worked for me as a mom. Looking back, it was really the beginning of truly exploring and understanding my personal style as an adult, as well as a launching point for my style-oriented career.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The habit of getting dressed each day has continued since then, and I actually find it even more important with so much time spent at home. It helps me separate the days from the nights, and helps me feel capable and competent with my work, either on my business or in motherhood.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What we look like is the least important thing about us, but expressing ourselves through personal style can be a powerful way to deepen our self-awareness, and can even serve to help us love our bodies even more. When I started to see style as a way to communicate to the world and as as something to be enjoyed FOR ME—not something to impress others or to disguise my body—it actually gave me so much more love and appreciation for the body I have and has resulted in me spending LESS time worrying about what I look like 💛

P.S. My friends @stephanietrotta, @_happygocurly_ and @artinthefind are sharing their 10 favorite outfits today too! Check ‘em out ✨

As this year comes to an end next week, I’m thinking about a word (instead of a resolution) to focus on in 2021. My word for 2020 was “simplicity” and in some ways that really is what happened—less travel, less activity, tons of time at home with my family doing simple things and not being hurried.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I haven’t chosen my word for 2021 yet (I’ll share by the end of next week!), but I’d love to hear from you and know what word or phrase you’d select to guide you in the upcoming year. 👉🏼 Leave a comment and let us all know what you’ll be focusing on in 2021 so we can cheer you on and also get ideas for ourselves!
