We recently got an Amour Vert store nearby and today I popped in to feel their fabrics, see their styles in person and give a few things a quick try-on to acquaint myself with the brand. I’ve known about them for about a year because they send me their catalogs, but honestly was resistant to order because I hadn’t heard of them before and wasn’t sure of the fit or quality. I’m happy to say that they make really high quality, gorgeous clothing and I for sure will be shopping there more often now that we have one locally!
Here are a few facts about them to help you get to know what they’re about:
- They are committed to making sustainable, versatile, and thoughtfully designed clothing.
- Their pieces are made in limited quantities to ensure the highest production standard and eliminate excess waste. 97% of their products are made in California—most within a few miles of their San Francisco offices.
- They work directly with mills to develop signature fabrics, that are soft, beautiful, durable, and of course, sustainable.
In all of the photos I’m wearing my favorite cheetah mules and two layered necklaces from my shop. The long one is the Waves Coin Necklace and will be available September 5th. Also, wearing my Yearly Co Bangles (almost every day!)
This sweater has a really cool detail on the back that makes it unique (you can see it on the product listing). I actually preferred sizing up so it wasn’t too cropped in the back! The jeans fit like a dream and run pretty true to size. They do have stretch in them so if you’re in between sizes, consider going with the smaller size.
Here’s the exact same sweater in black—equally gorgeous if you ask me! I also swapped out the dark skinnies for this mid-wash version and these ones came home with me—they feel like a hug and are perfectly cropped for my height (5’4″). I will be wearing these a lot! Sizing is the same as the dark wash.
This outfit is MY FAVORITE! It’s one of my “uniforms” I reach for over and over again: soft top, blazer, comfy jeans and mules. I sized down in the blazer and it still has a perfect oversized fit. I didn’t buy the blazer today, but now I kind of regret that. I’m thinking about it still! (Tee is the one I was wearing today already).
I love the detail on this white sweater—minimalist, but not boring. I recommend going up a size!
Lastly, a super soft jumpsuit. It definitely hit a bit low on my chest and I wish it had a clasp, but overall it’s a gorgeous piece. Maybe better suited for someone with a longer torso, though! I think this would be a great outfit for chasing kids around in (it’s nursing friendly!) and also is pretty ideal for travel since it’s soft like pajamas.
Have you ever heard of Amour Vert or shopped there?
[…] cool about an oversized blazer—especially in a classic black color. I fell in love with this one the first time I tried it on at Amour Vert, so when they offered to send me one to style for you, it was an easy, “YES!” Not only […]
Would you mind sharing more about what you liked about the black blazer?
I live the Hayes Valley location and very quickly my wardrobe has become 50-50 Amour Vert and Madewell. Since having my son I don’t wear silk that often now but their silk shirts are super cute. I will say that you need to be careful with their modal stuff, they can get a little pilly, but overall super cute and their jeans (A Gold E?) that you’re wearing look great on you Natalie (although what doesn’t look good on you, haha)
I’m so glad I got the jeans! Wearing them today, and they feel great. Stretchy but not too much so. They really do feel like a hug, haha.
I bought one shirt online. It’s modal and soft and drape-y. I’m really thinking a lot about more ethical brands (and being very selective in adding to my wardrobe) and so Amour Vert is definitely on my list!
Yes! Their fabrics are so ridiculously soft. Do you shop at Everlane, too? They also make great ethical/responsible clothing, though a bit more masculine. I feel like the Everlane and Amour Vert stuff would go together really well actually!
I’m so happy you did this try-on. I think I had bought 1 thing (the gardenia jumpsuit, which I love) before the store came within walking distance to my house in Atlanta. Now most of what I’ve bought in the past year has come from them. I so appreciate their ethical efforts and I find most of the clothes they carry fit me really well.
Yes, they do sustainability so beautifully.
I’ve been getting their catalog for years and haven’t made a purchase yet. Now might be the time to pull the trigger!
Yes, same! I always was so curious but nervous to order. I can testify that their stuff is really good!
