When I think “classic style,” I always think of J.Crew. My first serious coat purchase was from J.Crew over 10 years ago—a wool blazer-coat in a camel color—and it’s so timeless I could never imagine letting it go. I love that their pieces truly stand the test of time, but are also far from boring. In this post I’m sharing my take on fall neutrals with a pop of personality thanks to animal print details, which add pattern while staying true to the neutral colors I love to wear.
Thank you, J.Crew, for sponsoring this post!
OUTFIT 1: Black cashmere sweater + pleated leopard midi skirt + sneakers with leopard detail
The first look is a double dose of leopard—both in the skirt and the sneakers. I absolutely love the black laces these shoes come with (they also come with white ones so you can swap them if you want). I went down 1/2 size in them and they feel like the perfect fit. For the sweater, I recommend sizing up, and for the skirt I’d size down unless you want it to fit lower on your waist.
OUTFIT 2: Black cashmere sweater + black skinny jeans + brown pointed-toe booties + leopard bag
These boots are going to get so much wear this fall! They’re true to size and incredibly comfortable right off the bat. I love them here with all black and a pop of animal print in the bag. The jeans I’m wearing are the curvy style and they fit true to size for me.
OUTFIT 3: Leopard long sweater blazer + white tee + black skinny jeans + black loafers
You know my love for sweater blazers runs deep—so when I saw this long leopard version, I knew I wanted to add it to my wardrobe. It has the look of a coat and the comfort of a cardigan. And I really like the minimalist animal print design. It does run big, so I recommend sizing down 1-2 sizes. I paired it with a classic white tee (true to size), black skinny jeans and loafers. The loafers seem to run a little big so I’d size down 1/2 size.
Which of these 3 animal print looks would you wear this fall?
