When I first got these, I was sure I was sending them back. They were out of my comfort zone and felt way too tight. After chatting with the customer service people, they assured me that I chose the right size and that with proper breaking-in, these leather shoes would become ridiculously comfortable and have the perfect fit. Let me tell you—they were right! I’m so glad I went outside my comfort zone and gave them a try because they’ve become some of my all-time favorites.
These oxfords come in 3 colors—tan, brown and black—and the tan color I have is for sure my personal favorite. They work as year-round shoes, and the color is close enough to my skin tone that it visually elongates my leg-line. Always love that! While oxfords definitely skew to the masculine side of style, I’m partial to this style with the side cutout, which gives it a bit more of a feminine touch. Most importantly, these shoes are ethically made in Mexico, so I feel really good about wearing them and sharing about them.
In all of these looks, I’m wearing my Emma Hoops in Mini Brass Bicone (available later this month), Mama Coin Necklace and Waves Coin Necklace.
Here are 6 ways I’ll be wearing my oxfords this fall:
This patterned bag adds a dose of texture to an otherwise simple look. If you’re in the market for a new button down, I also highly recommend this one! It’s oversized and I don’t have wide shoulders so I sized down, but if you’re larger chested or have a broader shoulder width you could possibly stay TTS. It’s supposed to have a loose, casual fit.
Here I just played around with the same base outfit (button down, black jeans, oxfords), but swapped out my bag and added an olive jacket. I really love the pop of red from the strap on the tote!
This look would work for so many different scenarios and I love it for the versatility. Of course it’s layered, so it’s nice for an occasion where you may have some temperature changes. Also, it can read as dressy or casual depending on how others around you are dressed. It’s a teacher-friendly and mom-friendly outfit! The pants are great because they have a ton of stretch and easily hide stains. The pants run fairly TTS, but if you’re in between sizes I’d go with your smaller size.
This outfit is a great example of how little details really make an impact. The oxfords add sophistication, the bag strap adds a simple pattern and a pop of color, and the layered necklaces add a metallic element that I always love to incorporate.
I love mixing destroyed denim with more refined elements like these oxfords and a classic black turtleneck. My turtleneck is old, but I’ve linked two similar options for you. These jeans are 100% cotton denim and have no stretch. I ended up going with the lower end of my usual size range, but I think it’s all about body proportions and honestly I’d recommend ordering two sizes if you’re unsure. Also, there’s a curvy version available, too!.
Teacher-friendly/work-friendly outfit alert! I don’t do these often, but sometimes I get inspired and it works out. I’d also wear this out on a fall date night with my husband. It feels chic and elevated, but is incredibly comfortable thanks to the loose pants and soft cashmere. And the leopard bag pulls together all of the colors in the outfit. FYI: I do recommend sizing down in the pants!
Here’s a more casual way to style these pants. The denim jacket and tee keep the outfit grounded and laid-back. The jacket runs small, so I went up a size, but the pants are somewhat roomy so I sized down in those.
I’ve been eyeing that white everlane sweater! What size did you get? I’m undecided if I should get the small or medium.
