As always, I strive to make getting dressed and feeling good in what I’m wearing as simple and easy as possible. I think of these outfit formulas as personal uniforms. Some of these uniforms change from season to season, while some work all year, but they’re basically shortcuts to get me from in-my-pajamas to ready-to-go in just a few minutes. Today I’m sharing 4 outfit formulas I like to rotate through during the hot summer months.
For jewelry, I’m wearing the Elin Ear Cuff, 14K Gold Hoops (these textured ones and a new pair I haven’t sold yet), the James Link Chain Necklace and the Chloe Coin Necklace. I plan to bring back all of these pieces, so be sure you’re on the email list to know when they’re available again! These are the sunglasses I’m wearing in the photos, too.
Also, shameless plug here for the Elevating Your Style Class Conni and I launched this week—it’s not too late to sign up, and we definitely will be talking about outfit formulas and uniforms on Day 5 of the class. If you’re you haven’t signed up yet but are interested, you can get the details and register here.
SUMMER UNIFORM #1: Jumpsuit + Sandals + Woven Tote
I love how easy this one is. It’s basically a one-and-done! My favorite summer jumpsuits are linen for breathability. They’re so light and airy, and they’re a great alternative to shorts when it’s hot outside. I sized down in all of the jumpsuits.

OUTFIT FORMULA #2: Cutoffs + Button Down + Woven Mules + Woven Bag
I probably wear this outfit formula more than any of the others. It just feels like “me” and is a mix of comfortable and lightweight and cool and both masculine and feminine. It just works really well in my mind and I feel very much myself in this combo. I sized up in the shorts and sized up 1/2 size in the mules.

SUMMER UNIFORM #3: Short Dress + White Sneakers + Crossbody
This is a new formula for me, but one that I’m really loving. I wear pants more than dresses for sure, but sometimes a dress just sounds so easy and breezy. My issue with dresses is that they can get overly feminine or frilly, which isn’t really aligned with my personal style. So the sneakers both bring down that femininity a bit, and also add major comfort.

SUMMER UNIFORM #4: Long Dress + Gladiator Sandals + Belt Bag
This mix is another newer formula for me, but I am really loving the major vacation vibes it gives me. I love this look on super hot days when I just don’t want too much fabric clinging to my body. My belt bag is one of my favorite accessories for creating shape when I’m wearing flowy pieces, and I really love it with long dresses. I stayed true to size for the white one, but sized down in the other two. For anything at Jenni Kayne use code Natalie20 for 20% off.

This is one of my favorite posts ever! I love the uniform concept. All of these pics are #goals. Thanks for the inspiration Natalie!
Thank you! I really should do a post like this for every season. Uniforms make getting dressed so much faster!
