After sharing my 30-piece summer capsule for our more moderate summers here in California, I got several requests for what to wear when it’s truly hot outside — we’re talking 95 or hotter, and perhaps with humidity thrown in the mix. I remember that kind of heat from when I lived in Austin, TX for a summer. And I also remember how challenging it was to dress in a way that felt put-together, but also didn’t make me feel too warm or show sweat. I’m actually heading to Austin, TX later this month for a little bit of work and to visit friends, and will be sure to share the outfits I end up wearing during those sweltering days I’m there!  I also will tag outfits that are “hot weather friendly” here if you want to bookmark it!

There are several of the same pieces in this capsule as in the original 30-Piece Summer Capsule, but with some layers and pants removed and replaced with pieces that are more practical for hot temperatures (some of which I sourced online and don’t actually own myself). I left the denim jacket in there because in really hot climates, the air conditioning indoors tends to be cranked up high and I always appreciated having something to throw over my shoulders at the movies, a restaurant, etc…
