I could write a lot about outfit transitions from summer to fall, but since I design jewelry I wanted the focus to be in the details: a tassel necklace! Specifically here I’ve styled my Amelia Tassel Necklace, but any of your tassel necklaces will work as long as the colors go with the rest of the outfit. First, let’s start with my summer styling:
Simple and timeless—that’s how I roll! A denim shirtdress is such an easy choice in the summertime, especially with a swingy shape like this to accommodate my bump. When the weather is warm I prefer to have less fabric touching me. The shorter cut keeps it from being frumpy and wearing shoes the same color as my skin elongates my not-so-long legs. With a basic outfit, the accessories really can shine—I actually layered a really delicate bar necklace (coming to the shop soon!) with the longer tassel for more of an accessory impact.
Taking this outfit into fall is easy peasy—just add a chunky, cozy knit cardigan and a wide brim hat and you’ve nailed it. Though I don’t have a bag with me in these photos, I’d also trade out my woven drum bag I have above for a brown leather bag like this or this for a more fall feel.
Since this dress is a) not a maternity dress, b) very forgiving and c) nursing friendly, I can guarantee I’ll be wearing the fall version once my baby girl arrives! Just replace the bump with a baby carrier (I think this one would look gorgeous with the rest of the outfit) and that’s me in November.
