10 Rules for Effortless, Everyday Style

In this series, I share some simple tips for leveling up your daily looks.

Plaid season is here! And I️ have to say, the timing is perfect because flannel and button down shirts are a total dream for these newborn days when I’m nursing a baby so frequently. I️ recently fell in love with blackwatch plaid and this is the first of a few items I’ve ordered in the print.

Naturally, I️ paired my shirt with jeans—real jeans!! These high waisted ones from American Eagle are perfect for the postpartum days or really for anyone who doesn’t want to spend a fortune on jeans. They have a good amount of stretch and aren’t too pricey. It’s so, so important after having a baby to find clothes that fit you right now and not feel bad about how much your body is still changing after delivery.

I’m keeping my accessories really minimal lately—partially due to the lack of time I have to get dressed in general and partly because I don’t want any long necklaces in the way if I’m doing any babywearing. I stuck with an old favorite pair of sunglasses and the 14K gold pieces from my shop. This is an easy, nursing-friendly, #legitmomstyle look that I know I’ll be wearing a version of several times a week!
